Dazard Anti-Money Laundering and Verification Policy

This policy explains the measures Dazard uses to verify Player identities, prevent financial crime and maintain appropriate controls over accounts and transactions. It covers registration checks, age verification, Know Your Customer (KYC) procedures, Anti-Money Laundering (AML) controls and additional checks that may apply to higher-risk activity.

These procedures are intended to support compliance with applicable legal and regulatory requirements. Verification requirements can differ depending on the Player, transaction history, location and the level of risk identified during account monitoring.

1. Scope of Our Compliance Checks

Dazard applies identity and account checks throughout the customer relationship. Verification is not limited to registration and may also be required later when account information, transactions or other circumstances need to be confirmed.

The main purposes of these controls are to:

  • confirm that an account belongs to the person who registered it;
  • verify that the Player meets the applicable age requirement;
  • confirm residential information where necessary;
  • identify suspicious or unusual financial activity;
  • assess higher-risk customers and transactions;
  • support Anti-Money Laundering and KYC obligations.

Dazard may restrict account functions while required compliance checks remain incomplete.

2. Location and Jurisdiction Requirements

Dazard does not permit registration or participation from jurisdictions where access to online gambling is prohibited or restricted under applicable law.

Players must provide accurate information about their country of residence when creating an account. Dazard may request additional evidence of location or residence at any stage if this information needs to be verified.

Access from prohibited jurisdictions may be blocked. If an account is found to have been created or used contrary to geographic restrictions, Dazard may close the account and apply the consequences permitted under the applicable Terms & Conditions, including restrictions relating to funds held on the account.

3. Information Required to Verify a Player

Every Player must register personally. Accounts must not be opened on behalf of another individual.

As part of the verification process, Dazard may require information such as:

  • first and last name;
  • date of birth;
  • full residential address;
  • a valid passport or another government-issued identity document;
  • proof of current residential address, such as a bank statement or utility document.

The identification provided must demonstrate that the Player is at least 18 years old or has reached the higher minimum legal gambling age that applies in their jurisdiction.

Additional documents or information may be requested where the initial information is not sufficient to complete verification. Account access or specific account functions may remain suspended until Dazard receives satisfactory information.

4. How Identity Checks May Be Applied

The level of verification required can depend on the circumstances of the account. A standard registration may require basic identity documentation, while other situations may require additional investigation.

Type of CheckWhat May Be Reviewed
Identity verificationName, date of birth and government-issued identification
Address verificationResidential address and supporting documents
Age verificationEvidence that the Player meets the legal gambling age
Financial reviewSource of funds, source of wealth and transaction history where required
Risk reviewTransaction patterns, jurisdiction, occupation and other relevant risk indicators

Dazard may repeat or extend these checks where circumstances change or where additional verification is required.

5. Additional Review for Higher-Risk Accounts

Some Players may be subject to Enhanced Due Diligence (EDD). These measures provide a more detailed review where ordinary verification is considered insufficient for the identified level of risk.

EDD may be applied when:

  • a Player is classified as higher risk under internal risk assessment criteria;
  • the Player is associated with a higher-risk jurisdiction;
  • transaction behaviour is unusual compared with the expected account profile;
  • large transactions are made;
  • the Player’s occupation or financial circumstances require additional review;
  • the account is associated with a complex ownership or financial structure.

The existence of an EDD review does not by itself mean that improper activity has occurred. It means that additional information is required before Dazard can complete its risk assessment.

6. Enhanced Due Diligence Measures

Where EDD is required, Dazard may carry out one or more additional verification steps.

  1. Request further identity or residence documents.
  2. Ask for information supporting the origin of deposited funds.
  3. Request evidence relating to the Player’s broader source of wealth.
  4. Perform sanctions or adverse-media screening.
  5. Apply closer or ongoing monitoring to account activity.

The specific documents requested will depend on the reason for the review and the circumstances of the account.

7. Politically Exposed Persons

Dazard applies additional controls where a Player is identified as a Politically Exposed Person (PEP). Similar measures may also apply to relevant family members and close associates.

PEP-related checks may include:

  • enhanced verification of identity;
  • detailed assessment of source of funds;
  • assessment of source of wealth;
  • additional ongoing account monitoring;
  • approval from senior management before establishing or continuing the customer relationship.

These measures are applied as part of risk-based compliance procedures.

8. Monitoring Financial Activity

Dazard may review transactions according to their size, frequency, timing and overall pattern. This helps identify activity that differs materially from the expected use of an account.

Transactions that may require further review include:

  • a single transaction that exceeds an applicable monitoring threshold;
  • multiple transactions that together exceed a relevant threshold;
  • activity that is inconsistent with information known about the Player;
  • an unusual increase in transaction volume or frequency;
  • rapid movement of money into and out of the Player Account.

A transaction review may result in additional questions, document requests or Enhanced Due Diligence.

Where required by applicable law, suspicious or qualifying activity may also be reported to the relevant authorities.

9. Checking the Origin of Funds

Dazard may ask a Player to explain and document where money used on the platform originates. This is generally referred to as a Source of Funds check.

Depending on the circumstances, supporting evidence may include:

  • bank statements;
  • salary or payslip records;
  • documents showing business income or ownership;
  • other evidence that reasonably demonstrates the origin of the relevant funds.

The exact evidence required will depend on the account and the activity being reviewed.

10. Source of Wealth Reviews

A Source of Wealth review considers the broader origin of a Player’s financial position rather than only the source of an individual deposit.

This type of check may be required particularly for:

  • higher-risk customers;
  • Politically Exposed Persons;
  • large transactions;
  • unusual transaction patterns;
  • circumstances where additional financial context is needed.

Dazard may request reasonable documentation that helps establish how the relevant wealth was accumulated.

11. Verification of Player Age

Dazard services are intended only for individuals who have reached the legal gambling age.

An account may be suspended where the Player’s age cannot be satisfactorily verified.

If Dazard determines that an account belongs to an underage person:

  1. the Player Account may be closed;
  2. transactions made while the Player was underage may be annulled;
  3. eligible funds may be returned in accordance with the applicable policy;
  4. winnings accumulated while underage may be forfeited.

Players must therefore provide accurate age information when registering and cooperate with any subsequent request for proof of age.

12. Accuracy of Account Information

All information submitted during registration or verification must be complete, accurate and truthful.

Dazard may take action where information is found to be:

  • false;
  • materially incomplete;
  • inaccurate;
  • misleading;
  • supported by documents that do not belong to the registered Player.

Depending on the circumstances, this may result in account restrictions or closure, cancellation of funds where permitted by the applicable rules, and further action where necessary.

13. Account Restrictions During Verification

Dazard may temporarily restrict a Player Account while KYC, AML or Enhanced Due Diligence checks are being completed.

This may affect access to certain account functions until:

  • all requested information has been submitted;
  • documents have been reviewed;
  • the identity of the Player has been satisfactorily confirmed;
  • any additional compliance concerns have been resolved.

The purpose of such restrictions is to allow the verification process to be completed before further account activity takes place.

14. Review Period for KYC Documents

Once all requested KYC documents have been provided, Dazard aims to complete the review within 30 working days.

The review period begins after the complete set of requested information has been received. If additional documents are required, the verification process may remain incomplete until those documents are supplied.

15. Continuing Account Monitoring

Verification is not necessarily a one-time process. Dazard may continue to monitor Player Accounts and transactions throughout the customer relationship.

Further checks may be required when:

  • account information changes;
  • transaction behaviour changes significantly;
  • new risk indicators are identified;
  • higher-value transactions occur;
  • updated information is required for compliance purposes.

Players may therefore be asked to provide updated documents even if their identity was previously verified.

16. Cooperation With Compliance Checks

Players are expected to cooperate with reasonable KYC and AML requests relating to their accounts.

This includes providing genuine documents, answering relevant verification questions and keeping account information accurate. Failure to provide information required to complete a compliance review may prevent Dazard from continuing to provide some or all account services.

17. Maintaining a Secure and Compliant Platform

Dazard uses KYC, AML monitoring and risk-based verification to help protect the platform against misuse and to meet applicable compliance requirements.

These controls may involve standard identity verification for ordinary accounts and more detailed checks where the nature of the Player or transaction requires closer review.

Players should use Dazard only through an account registered in their own name and should provide accurate information whenever verification is requested.
